About

The Collective

Kymare Collective is a project focused on forming deeper connections with the natural world and collaborating with local herbalists, foragers, creatives and environment friendly companies. As of spring 2025 we hosted several workshops and experiences here in Squamish B.C.

With an intimate group of similar minds we will go outside in nature to explore and learn from the plants in the forest, down by the sea or in the mountains. During the workshops or field studies , participants will be given tools to safely identify the plants discussed.

Foraging herbs, berries, lichen, mushrooms, slowing down in nature, sharing traditional knowledge and remembering the old ways. Getting to know a variety of wild growing medicinal herbs in a playful way and learn how you can incorporate their medicine in your daily life.

A perfect blend of adventure, food, creativity, learning, and community.

"Many of us experience a change in awareness when we are in the wilds, we become slower, calmer and more attuned. "

Words by Chellis Glendinning, Ph.D

Author and pioneer in the field of eco-psychology.

About Kim

A bit about Kim founder of Kymare:
In 2017 she moved from the Netherlands to Vancouver to work as a fashion designer for the brand Lululemon and this gave her the opportunity to explore the beautiful rivers and mountains of B.C.  She fell in love with the wilderness at her doorstep. In 2020 she moved to Squamish to be closer to nature.

Kymare is the combination of the names Kim spelled as Kym & Mare.  in Norwegian, Kim means "seed," referring to the small beginning of something that grows. And Mare is the Latin word for sea. The ocean symbolizes vastness, depth of experience, and ultimate reality. Kymare is a project of Creative Design Studio KimWormgoor.nl.

Kim is always exploring the woods, hiking the mountains, foraging and studying wild plants and their medicinal properties for the last 7 years. Following multiple herbalism courses from Althea Herbals and currently studying for Herbalist at the Pacific Rim College.

She is devoted to creating intentional outdoor experiences that include foraging & herbalism and traditional knowledge. Herbal Wisdom is meant to be shared!  Learning by collectively exploring nature, be connected with the plants and like-minded people and practice together. The interconnectedness of it all gives you a feeling of belonging and satisfaction.
